Gilbert Verdian, founder and CEO of Quant, is focused on unlocking the power of blockchain for everyone to create an empowered, interconnected world. He supported this concept:
Verdian worked in government-for Downing Street, the Cabinet Office, Ministry of Justice, HM Treasury, and NSW Health – and has also served in the private sector at Mastercard, CSC, Ernst & Young, PwC, BP, Vocalink, and HSBC.
With a keen interest in disruptive technology, Gilbert established the Blockchain ISO Standard TC307 initiative in 2015 and is the Convenor of the Interoperability working group WG7for ISO. He is also an author of a book titled “Enterprise Security — Real Solutions to Today’s Security Challenges” back in 2011.
Before starting the Quant, Gilbert Verdian was the CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) at Vocalink. Vocalink, which Mastercard owns, built, and operates the infrastructure for the Faster Payments Service, enabling faster payments in the UK and expanding to other regions such as the US with RTP and FAST service in Singapore. Gilbert was in charge of Security for the Faster Payments service in the UK, which deals with £6 trillion annually. He was awarded the Cyber Security Awards CISO of the year in 2017.
Having over 20 years of industry experience, he has gained many contacts and an understanding of how large companies and governments operate at the highest level. Gilbert was director for Cybersecurity at PWC, Security for HSBC and Ernst & Young, as well as various government roles such as the CISO for the Australian NSW Health, Head of Security at the UK government for Ministry of Justice and HM Treasury in addition to being part of the committee for the European Commission, US Federal Reserve and the Bank of England.
